Sterling silver & 14K rose-gold filled bead stacking bracelet with lobster clasp (#4 ~ round)

These bracelets are made with sterling silver and 14k rose-gold filled findings, and have been made by myself.

Rose-gold filled jewellery comprises a solid layer of gold (14k) permanently pressure bonded to a base metal, such as brass.  The rose colour is obtained by alloying gold with copper.

In order for something to be considered gold filled, it must have a gold content of at least 1/20th the total weight of the item.

Gold filled is not to be confused with gold plating. Gold filled jewellery is much more valuable than jewellery that is simply gold plated.

It is very hard wearing and under normal wear the gold will not peel or flake, unlike gold plate. It won’t tarnish and will not rub off or turn colours.

Gold filled jewellery can be worn daily without fear of fading or rubbing off. 14k gold filled jewellery, providing proper care is carried out, can last a lifetime.

Wearers who are sensitive to certain metals can wear gold filled without worries of an allergic reaction.

It is commonly used as a more affordable alternative to pure gold as although a gold filled piece of jewellery is not solid gold, it has the same desirable properties and look of solid gold.

To check your own wrist size before ordering:

Decide where you would normally like a bracelet to sit

To take the measurement, use a measuring tape or length of thread/wool. Wrap it round to fit, but not tight. That will give you your wrist size

Then, increase the wrist measurement in the following increments to determine the bracelet size you require to be made, depending on how you want the bracelet to fit:

Add ¼ to ½ inch for a snug fit
Add ¾ to 1 inch for a comfortable fit
Add about 1 ¼ inch for a loose fit

Sterling silver

By the very nature of sterling silver, there is no way to protect it from tarnishing because sterling silver reacts with so many materials found in everyday life. The best way to reduce tarnish build-up is to actually wear your sterling silver jewellery often. When sterling silver is not worn it tarnishes quickly. Unavoidable I'm afraid, but perfectly normal and nothing to be concerned by, and it can easily be removed with a silver polishing cloth or polishing cream.

14k rose-gold filled

To ensure that it stays looking lovely, it’s best to keep treatment simple – by gently polishing with a soft, non-abrasive cloth.
It’s important to note that many chemicals marked for cleaning jewellery can be abrasive and damage 14k gold filled jewellery.
