Artisan fused glass - Shop
livepages::jquery();?>Made by a lovely glass maker in Scotland, some of these earrings have been made from a clear glass base with crushed furnace glass, 24 carat gold leaf or palladium (a metal with a silver/grey/purple sheen depending on the lighting), and surgical steel posts and butterfly backs, while others are a solid colour base, with or without gold leaf or palladium decoration.
I have two styles available - flat/coin/disc and round/ball.
The glass has been shaped freehand, so the earrings are not identical, but are still a matching pair.
Surgical Steel is hypo-allergenic. The steel backs are fused into the glass while it is still hot, so no glue is needed.
They have been annealed in the kiln to remove all thermal stresses, so they are durable. However, please be mindful that they are still glass, so they should still be treated with care.
Due to the nature of the glass, no two pieces are ever quite the same so you can be sure you're wearing something special.
