Known as the stone of compassion, Peridot is believed to bring good health, restful sleep and peace to relationships by balancing emotions and mind. This friendly bright green stone also has the uncanny ability to inspire eloquence and creativity. It is thought to be a great harmonization stone, and bring about positivity for its wearer. Peridot is the birthstone for August.

By the very nature of sterling silver, there is no way to protect it from tarnishing because sterling silver reacts with so many materials found in everyday life. The best way to reduce tarnish build-up is to actually wear your sterling silver jewellery often. When sterling silver is not worn it tarnishes quickly. Unavoidable I'm afraid, but perfectly normal and nothing to be concerned by, and it can easily be removed with a silver polishing cloth or polishing cream.
